PTSA Reflections Art Program 2018

The National PTA Reflections program encourages students in Preschool through Grade 12 to create and submit original works of art in the medium of their choice— dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts — reflecting on a specific theme. This year the theme of the Reflections competition is, "Within Reach."

Every student is recognized for their accomplishments with the opportunity for state and national awards. If your child has a passion for the arts, this is a wonderful way to express their unique creativity!

The PTSA held the annual Reflections art program gallery viewing and celebration on Friday, December 8, 2017. This year's theme was, “Within Reach.” Nine students from HMS and 10 students from HCS moved on to the NH State level competition!

The NH State Reflections Competition will be held in Derry, NH at Gilbert H. Hood Middle School on March 7, 2018. (snow date March 8)

What is the PTA Reflections Art Program?

In short, it is a recognition program designed to encourage students to explore the arts. All ages and abilities are encouraged to apply.

My child is interested, how can I help them get started?

For younger students, the concept of a theme is a foreign one. Parents may have to explain what a theme is. Essentially, a theme is an underlying message or the big idea of a story. It is a message that can be applied in their own life.
