Hampstead PTSA is successful because of our families! Volunteering your time is an inexpensive way to meet the needs of our school, make an effective contribution to your child’s school experience, and show your child that you value his/her education. If we each contribute 1 HOUR we can accomplish so much! Without volunteers like you, many of the PTSA events and activities would not be possible. You can help during the day or at night, at the school or from your home.

Below you will find a list of annual events and programs run by the Hampstead PTSA and its many volunteer families.

  • Web Site Admin: We are looking for one or two people with a web design and development background to assist with the maintenance of the web site on an ongoing basis. Ideally, someone versed in Google Sites, HTML, CSS.

  • After School Enrichment: This program runs from 3:30-4:30pm for 3 weeks October through November and then again in the spring. Enrichment brings a variety of classes to HCS such as crafting, cupcake decorating LEGOS, Ceramics, and sports. Volunteers are needed to teach classes, enroll students and assist instructors during class times. There are many opportunities for volunteers to help at home or in school.

  • Reflections Art Program: The National PTA Reflections program encourages students in preschool through grade 12 to create and submit original works of art in the medium of their choice— dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts — reflecting on a specific theme. This year the Theme of the Reflections Competition is, “I Matter Because..."

  • 5TH Grade Social - This event takes place 2x per year. October and May(or)June. Volunteers are needed to plan and help at these events.

  • Halloween Party: This is an event that the kids look forward to every year. The party is for children ages Pre-K through 4th grade. We need a co-chair for this event and we need many volunteers to bake and assist with a fun-filled night for HCS kids. Our PTSA student members are a huge help during this event and have a blast!

  • Jingle Bell Shop: This event runs in December and allows students and their siblings to shop for holiday gifts on their own or with the help of a volunteer. The items are priced at minimal costs (between$.25 and $10). Volunteers are needed to help set up in the HCS Cafeteria, to assist children in their purchases, to wrap gifts and to help clean up after the event.

  • Staff Appreciation: We need volunteers to help run special events and surprises for our Staff at HCS and HMS. This event takes place the second full week of May, and relies heavily on donations from our parents.

  • Bingo For Books: Play books! The HCS kids LOVE this event. This event coincides with read across America week. We are looking for book donations and helpers for the event.

  • Annual 1-Mile/5K Color Fun Run: We need volunteers to help make this exciting fun run a success! This is our biggest fundraiser for the year, so we would love to make it a huge success!

  • Cut/ Buzz-A-Thon: Benefit the American Cancer Society and Pantene Beautiful Lengths. If you have 8 inches of hair or more that you would like to donate, this is the event for you! All ages are welcome. Permission from parents is required. Details to come.
