Open Executive Board Positions for 2019/2020 School Year

The PTSA will be electing our new Executive Board members in the near future - nominations will be announced at May meeting; voting will be done in June.  There are two open positions available (each a 2-year term): 1st Vice President and Treasurer. Nomination forms for each open position should be submitted by April 30th to our nominating committee:  Candice Schmitz, Jaclyn Watson, and Ellen Cabral. You can email forms to or submit in an envelope marked “PTSA Board Nominations” to the HCS or HMS office.  We are seeking dedicated, energetic members who would like to take this opportunity to become more involved while also supporting the Hampstead schools and community.

The PTSA is responsible for providing, sponsoring and funding so many awesome events and programs in the Hampstead schools and community, and we cannot continue to do so without YOUR help!  We continually host the following fun events each year:

-        Enrichment Classes (Spring and Fall)

-        Box Tops for Education Program

-        HCS Annual Halloween Party for HCS students and families

-        Jingle Bell Shop

-        Bingo for Books

-        Reflections Art Competition

-        Staff Appreciation Week

-        Socials, Pizza Parties, Parades

-        HMS Musical Supplies

-        Hampstead 5K/1-Mile Color Fun Run

Additionally, the Hampstead PTSA sponsors several events within the schools each year, such as:

-        Individual Classroom Contributions (supplies, activities, class furniture, etc.)

-        Guest Speakers

-        Author Visits

-        Supplies for Field Day and other school functions

-        HMS Raffle for Respect

And many more throughout each school year!

Student members enjoy maximizing volunteer opportunities while also having fun at all the events.  They also design and create several programs themselves, while also having a great time with friends.

We would love for you to become an integral part of this group and help us be the best PTSA we can be!  Candidates will be presented to membership at the May 16th General Membership Meeting, and voting will take place at the last GM meeting of the school year on June 6th.  If you would like more information or have any questions, please email  We would love your help and support – thank you!

PTSA Event Volunteer

We offer the following programs throughout the year. There are a lot of opportunities to get involved! 

Web Site Admin: We are looking for one or two people with a web design and development background to assist with the maintenance of the web site on an ongoing basis. Ideally, someone versed in Google Sites, HTML, CSS. 

After School Enrichment: This program runs from 3:30-4:30pm for 3 weeks October through November and then again in the spring. Enrichment brings a variety of classes to HCS such
as crafting, slime making, STEM activities, Yoga, LEGOS, Ceramics, and much more! Volunteers are needed to teach classes, enroll students and assist instructors during class times. There are many opportunities for volunteers to help at home or in school.

Reflections Art Program: The National PTA Reflections program encourages students in preschool through grade 12 to create and submit original works of art in the medium of their choice— dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts — reflecting on a specific theme. This year the Theme of the Reflections Competition is, “Heroes Around Me.” Volunteers are needed are needed for this event.

5TH Grade Social - This event takes place 2x per year. October and May(or)June. Volunteers are needed to plan and help at these events.

Halloween Party: This is an event that the kids look forward to every year. The party is for children ages Pre-K through 4th grade. We need a co-chair for this event and we need many volunteers to bake and assist with a fun-filled night for HCS kids. Our PTSA student members are a huge help during this event and have a blast!

Jingle Bell Shop: This event runs in December and allows students and their siblings to shop for holiday gifts on their own or with the help of a volunteer. The items are priced at minimal costs (between$.25 and $10). Volunteers are needed to help set up in the HCS Cafeteria, to assist children in their purchases, to wrap gifts and to help clean up after the event.

Staff Appreciation: We need volunteers to help run special events and surprises for our Staff at HCS and HMS. This event takes place the second full week of May, and relies heavily on donations from our parents.

Bingo For Books: Play books! The HCS kids LOVE this event. This event coincides with read across america week. We are looking for book donations and helpers for the event.

Annual Color Fun Run: We need volunteers to help make this exciting fun run a success! 

Pantene Cut/ Buzz-A-Thon: Benefits the American Cancer Society and Pantene Beautiful Lengths. If you have 8 inches of hair or more that you would like to donate, this is the event for you! All ages are welcome. Permission from parents is required. 

Paint Night: Enjoy a fun night of painting with friends! This event will be offered to middle school students. We will need volunteers to help at this event. Light refreshments are served while the kids unleash their inner artist with Mary Preble! 

Movie Night: Kids enjoy a movie with friends at HCS. We are looking for chairs to run this event as well as volunteers. Details to come. 

The PTSA would not be as successful in creating programs for our schools if it weren't for your help, suggestions and time!
